1995 Gibson Les Paul Bantam

When I bought this, Gibson was saying on their Web site that this was a "Limited Edition", 400 total as I recall. Recently they started making more of them in the same colors claiming that they were never a "Limited Edition." They say that the new tops are different and they have changed the name to Florentine. Yea, it's a crock. I guess at Gibson, "Limited Edition" means it's limited to how many they can build and sell! Be advised when purchasing a "Limited Edition" from them. It is a nice guitar that is considerably lighter weight than the standard Les Paul. It has jumbo frets and a nice tone.

Rick Powell has a very good article on Limited Editions in the December 1996 edition of VG Classics. Excellent reading for those of us interested in collecting or buying and selling guitars.
